This Privacy Policy explains how BuildBot (“BuildBot”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use buildbot.cloudand related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) processes your email address, name, and profile image, and a unique user identifier.
• Learning data. We store your course progress, such as which lessons you have completed and when, in our database (Convex).
• Code you write. Code entered into in-browser challenges runs locally in your browser sandbox. We do not store the contents of your challenge code on our servers.
• Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically log IP addresses, browser type, and basic request metadata for security and reliability.

How we use your information

• To provide and operate the Service and your account.
• To save and sync your progress across your devices.
• To secure the Service and prevent abuse.
• To communicate with you about your account when necessary.

Service providers

We rely on trusted third parties to run the Service, and your data is processed by them on our behalf:

• Clerk — authentication and account management.
• Convex — application database and real-time sync.
• Vercel — hosting and content delivery.
• CodeSandbox (Sandpack) — the in-browser code environment used for challenges.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except as needed to operate the Service or comply with the law.

Data retention

We keep your account and learning data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete the associated personal data, except where we must retain it to meet legal obligations.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us. You can also manage core profile details and delete your account through your account settings.

Security

We use reputable providers and industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
